"You’re thinking about them, aren’t you?"
How Ex-Tax works
Temptation is free. Giving in isn’t.
-
01
Text them. Reach us.
Ex-Tax puts our line on your ex’s contact card. Text or call them by name and it comes to us. They never get it, and trying never costs a thing.
-
02
Every sinner needs an audience.
A friend you trust holds your Screen Time passcode. Your friends get a heads-up when you try, never what you wrote.
-
03
Self-control looks good on you.
Build a streak. Can’t resist? Their real number back for 30 minutes is an Ex Pass, from $1, and your streak starts over. Forbidden fruit isn’t free.
The heartbreak calculator
How expensive is your ex?
Let’s put a price on your questionable decisions.
Monthly total: $40
A little temptation adds up.
Just for fun: this is a made-up total, not a charge. In Ex-Tax, trying never costs anything. Only an Ex Pass does, from $1 to $20, and we stop selling them after 3 in a week.
The seven deadly texts
Forgive me, for I have texted.
We’ve all committed at least one. Swipe through your sins.
-
Sin no. 01 · The 2 AM text
“Are you awake?”
Of course they’re awake. That’s not the problem.
-
Sin no. 02 · The innocent check-in
“Hey, hope you’ve been well.”
A beautifully disguised terrible idea.
-
Sin no. 03 · The drunk dial
“I just wanted to hear your voice.”
Put the phone down, sweetheart.
-
Sin no. 04 · The accidental like
“Oops, didn’t mean to.”
At 1:47 AM? How fascinating.
-
Sin no. 05 · The birthday excuse
“Happy birthday!!”
How thoughtful. How unnecessary.
-
Sin no. 06 · The closure essay
“I just need to say one last thing.”
Four paragraphs? For that person?
-
Sin no. 07 · Famous last words
“This time will be different.”
That’s what you said last time.

The Ex-Tax Waitlist · A binding-ish agreement
Darling, it’s time to move on.
Your ex has had enough of your time. They don’t need your money, too.
Congratulations. You’re officially someone else’s problem.
You’re on the list, darling. We’ll email you when Ex-Tax opens.
Questions, darling?
Everything you wanted to ask about the no-contact app.
Every price, rule and honest limit is on How Ex-Tax works.
What is Ex-Tax?
Ex-Tax is a no-contact app for iPhone that helps you stop texting and calling your ex. It puts the Ex-Tax line on your ex’s contact card, so when you text or call them by name it reaches us instead of them. A friend you trust holds your Screen Time passcode, and you build a streak of days without contact.
How does Ex-Tax stop me from texting my ex?
Ex-Tax swaps the numbers on your ex’s contact card for the Ex-Tax line, and your keyholder turns on Contacts Only in Screen Time, so a number typed from memory won’t go through either. Texts and calls to your ex by name come to us, your ex never gets them, and your friends get a heads-up with the time, never what you wrote.
Does my ex ever find out?
No. Ex-Tax never contacts your ex, never sends them anything and never sees their real number. Their numbers stay saved only on your iPhone.
Is Ex-Tax free?
The lock, the Ex-Tax line, your streak, every scene and widget, and up to 8 friends are free, and trying to text your ex never costs anything. If you really want their real number back, an Ex Pass puts it on their card for 30 minutes, starting at $1.
Does Ex-Tax read my texts?
Ex-Tax only sees texts and calls that reach the Ex-Tax line, and it never stores the words. It can’t see your other messages, DMs or apps.
What if I really need to reach my ex?
You can turn on free co-parenting or legal passes, and there’s a free, private safety pass once a day from Get help. A friend can also approve a free pass. 911 always works.
When is Ex-Tax coming out?
Ex-Tax is coming soon to iPhone for adults 18 and over in the United States. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it opens.
